John H. ( Los Angeles, CA, USA ) - July 22, 2003 at 11:11:02
I stayed in this hotel for a week during the month of July, 2003. Please do not consider staying in this hotel. This place is a dump. The bedding had cigarette holes burnt into it. The carpet was dirty and had lots of stains. One of the nights we were there, there was a large party in one of the hotel rooms whose occupants were spitting beer at guests walking by the hotel. I do not understand why the party was never terminated by the hotel management. Several of the hotel guests were very upset.
The hotel is very near a strip club. Hence, as soon as the sun went down, the hookers came out in abundance. This is not a good place to take children.
In my opinion, this hotel was terrible. The rooms were dirty and the location was bad. I would have rather stayed at a Motel 6.
On a side note: downtown Waikiki is not a safe place. While we were there, not far from the hotel, we were jumped by 10 guys for no reason. We later learned that this is a common occurrence due to the dislike the locals have for tourist. Many people we talked to told us that this is a bad problem in Waikiki. The locals try to discourage tourist from visiting by assaulting, robbing, and doing other crimes. BE CAREFUL!
